Gelston is one of Chorley’s finest period homes, bordered by greenbelt farmland and set amongst 3 acres of breathtaking woodland.
Our children have endless opportunities to explore and are encouraged to spend as much time outside as possible, which is why we’re now branded the “Outdoor Nursery”.
From a very mucky mud kitchen, a sandpit full of treasures, a sensory path and garden, a bug hotel, planting area, musical area and storytimes by the fire… the children never want to leave!
Inside, the ground floor offers a fantastic free-flow environment for toddlers (2-3yrs) and pre-schoolers (3-5yrs), whilst the first floor is home to a truly wonderful baby unit (0-2yrs) and sensory room. All rooms are neutrally decorated making them light and airy and have been set up and developed to meet the individual needs and interests of every child.
My son goes to Gelston Manor Nursery and I can not speak more highly about the place. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, the facilities are very good. My son used to go to another local nursery but it was too small and very little outdoor space and a few staffing issues. Geslton has been amazing and my son has settled in very well and my son especially loves the outside natural space which many other nurseries can not provide.
My little boy has recently finished at Gelston Manor after 2 years due to starting school in September. Since being at this nursery he has become a confident, sociable and caring little boy. I believe that this is thanks to the excellent team, safe learning environment and the fun and engaging activitiesthat are provided. I would 100% recommend this nursery.
My son spent his whole nursery years here and loved it! He made great bonds with the staff, 2 in particular and made friends with other kids. Food and activities including learning were varied. The nursery nurtured him and prepared him well for school. Nothing was too much trouble.
Any issues I was able to deal with the management and it was dealt with effectively! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this nursery and have done so on numerous occasions! Thank you very much!
Gelston Manor has provided our son with the confidence, kindness and patience that we have both needed since starting nursery. I had so much worry a year ago for starting our nursery journey and now a year on I am overwhelmed with the amount of love I have for this place. The activities and attentionto detail is outstanding and the reassurance through the app is fantastic in providing me with all the information on how his day is going. The additional stay and play activities let us be involved in his nursery experience and I am so grateful we have these memories to treasure. I cannot thank the staff and management team enough for their dedication to my little boy.
We are so impressed and grateful for all that the staff do, day in and day out for our son. They well and truly go above and beyond at all times. Our son has been at Gelston since turning 1 so we have experienced the baby room (bunnies), toddler room (owlets) and now preschool (owls). At each age, Icouldn’t say enough positives about the staff, and their care, passion and knowledge within their roles – at all levels. A special shout-out has to go to three members of staff in particular, our son’s key workers, they are incredible members of staff who have made the nursery journey seamless and enjoyable at all times. And of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the outstanding management. We are also incredibly grateful for the time and effort that goes into updating the communication app daily – this gets us through the day. Thank you. We couldn’t recommend Gelston enough.
Our baby started at Gelston Manor Nursery in January 2024 at 10 months old. As a parent I was feeling very anxious for leaving her as well as having started a new job but I cannot thank enough all of the staff in the baby room as they have been amazing settling our baby in and she absolutely loves goingto nursery. Further to this all of the staff at the nursery are very polite, friendly and welcoming during drop-off and pickup times. During the five months our child has been attending the nursery, it is very clear to see that she has been progressing so well in her development in terms of communication, mobility and learning. Recently with the weather improving our child has been outside a lot in the grounds of the nursery playing and attending the fabulous forest school. The outdoor area is a very positive factor for the nursery with such an amazing space and it is good that the nursery encourages outdoor play as much as possible. Personally I cannot recommend this nursery enough.
My twins have recently started at Gelston Manor and they have settled in so well! I was very nervous to leave them at first but the staff in the Owlets room have been absolutely amazing and they have settled in so well!
They are both really enjoying their time there and they have picked up so muchalready. I’m excited to see how they progress there. I can’t thank all the team enough for their support and for how they are with the twins.
Staff in bunnies have so much love for my son it melts my heart – when the ladies greet him at the door they cuddle him and kiss him and it just makes me feel so comforting knowing that he’s getting so much love and support while at nursery! Even when I bring him downstairs I get owlets staff shouting‘Hi baba’ and he loves it – definitely makes me feel like my children are loved and that’s really important from a parent’s perspective that the lovely ladies are there to do a job but also love doing it! My other child also gets so much support in the owls’ room! From helping him overcome his initial challenging behaviour to recently the excellent support he has been given for potty training it’s just amazing! I couldn’t thank them all enough – the ladies all love his fun-filled personality and they work so hard to bring out his best side! Literally couldn’t fault them at all! He loves them all and they are smashing it! Fantastic staff in every room!
My daughter has been coming to Gelston since she was 10 months old. She is now a member of the Owlets room and thoroughly enjoys her time in there. She has formed a great relationship with her key person and all staff are so approachable and want the best for the children. They plan really good activities, celebrate different events, and spend lots of time outdoors. She loves visiting the sensory room, doing yoga, messy play and so much more. She asks to go to nursery on days when she isn’t booked in which is always a good sign. The management team are really helpful, they work hard to ensure the nursery runs smoothly and it’s obvious that everyone cares and is passionate about the jobs they do. The food is also amazing, with such a wide variety, certainly not like every other nursery. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a caring nursery where everyone gives 100%.
My little girl has recently started at Gelston Manor Nursery. After visiting numerous nurseries this one really stood out to me, you can see the passion and dedication the staff have for the children. My little girl is NG tube fed and the staff have been absolutely amazing, learning how to do this rolethey went absolutely above and beyond and nothing was too much trouble for them. My daughter absolutely loves being there. Gelston Manor Nursery is a wonderful nursery and I can’t wait to see my daughter going from strength to strength.
