The home of Gelston Manor & Little Manor Day Nursery

Manor Day Nurseries is a family run business owned by Laura Ward and Annemarie Capper who have over 20 years experience in the childcare sector.

Laura a seasoned practitioner and Annemarie a qualified teacher came together in January 2013 to establish Buckshaw Bunnies Childminders. The combination of experience and knowledge was a recipe for success and within 12 months of operating both were individually awarded an Outstanding by Oftsed – a quite remarkable achievement for any first Ofsted inspection!

With the support of both their partners, Neil and Simon, in September 2014 Laura and Annemarie made their dream a reality and opened the doors to Gelston Manor Day Nursery.

Gelston, one of Chorley’s finest period homes, surrounded by greenbelt farmland, set amongst 3 acres of woodland and occupying a prime location adjacent to Buckshaw Village soon became the first choice nursery for many parents and developed the reputation of being the “Outdoor Nursery”.

In 2020 the team restored a former children’s day nursery on Railway Road in Adlington. Laura and Annemarie now have their sights set on replicating their successes of Gelston with a truly stunning nursery for the residents of Adlington and its surrounding areas!

“Our mission is to be the friendliest local day nursery where everyone feels welcome and included. We aim to provide families with high quality flexible care and education whilst embracing the Early Years Foundation Stage.

We believe that a homely atmosphere is paramount and aim to provide a safe and caring environment where all children can feel happy and relaxed and develop to their full potential.
The first five years of a child’s life are important informative years and at Manor Day Nurseries we focus on the needs of the whole child”.

Please can I take this opportunity to thank you all for your commitment, support, love and safety that has been given to Oscar since he joined just over 2 years ago. We have always felt comforted knowing that he is in safe hands with yourselves…
